About
Dr. Wright

I am a Licensed Psychologist and a Clinical and Forensic Neuropsychologist with over 30 years in the field of mental health, and over 20 years in private practice. I am licensed in Colorado and Maryland, as well as authorized to practice telehealth in the majority of states throughout the nation through APIT.

After studying language development and psychology as an undergraduate at CU Boulder, I received my Master’s degree in Psychology (also from the University of Colorado), focusing on experimental cognitive research, neuropsychology, and jury decision making. I then worked as chief psychometrist and research coordinator for a national study of pediatric traumatic brain injury Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the mid 1990s, developing a passion for clinical care, and returning to Colorado, working as a clinical neuropsychometrist and completing my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a specialty focus in Neuropsychology and Forensic Trauma, at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology, in 2001. My clinical practicum and employment in graduate school included neuropsychology, as well as pediatric and adult domestic and sexual trauma. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the University of Missouri School of Medicine Health Sciences Consortium, at the APA and Division 40 approved  Psychology Internship Training Consortium, assigned to Rusk Rehabilitation and the Truman Veterans Hospital, where I did rotations in Behavioral Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Rehabilitation, as well as minor rotations in Stroke and combat PTSD. I completed Post-Doctoral training at Head Injury Rehab and the Pain Medicine Center in Denver, Colorado, before entering private practice, where I have since split my areas of practice between neuropsychology and psychotherapeutic treatment. I have worked in workers’ compensation and personal injury environments, including cases for Fortune 500 corporations, as well as serving my community’s neuropsychological and psychological needs throughout my career. For 8 years, I developed the neuropsychology and behavioral health services for one of the first integrated medical practices in Colorado, the esteemed East West Health Centers in Denver, Colorado, and then relocated and ran my practice in the Washington DC metropolitan region until the pandemic brought me back home to Colorado, where I continue my practice today.

In my spare and creative time, I write music and fiction, study acting and theater, enjoy home and garden, and love travel. I am a mother, wife, and grandmother of 3 teenage boys.
